Bring it on Houston Nutt!

Who’s ready for football! I AM! Even in NYC, there’s a bit of Hog Spirit!

Just to clarify a few things that apparently confused le readers…

  • my coat is hot pink…not red, who knew I’d need more than my normal share of hog attire
  • I am NOT wearing tyedye leggings – it’s actually a dress and tall boots – very cute outfit actually – why would you think I would be wearing tyedye leggings… really?
  • it’s SUPER windy

Weekend Update, and also…

So, this was the weekend – the 10 year class reunion. I was really excited about it starting back in January – this is actually one of the reasons I started this blog. It was originally intended to be a food journal of sorts in my efforts to get skinny by my reunion. Well, summer came and went with no reunion… I still managed to lose about 17 pounds – still have quite a ways to go however. Anyway, back to the reunion. It was held this past Saturday – only about 25 classmates came – I think I graduated with at least 300 people. I was really disappointed in the turn out. But we figured in hindsight, what else would we expect from our fairly apathetic class. Most everyone was friends with people in the classes behind or ahead of ours as we had a pretty small class comparatively. It was still good to see the people that were there. I really hope our 20 year reunion draws a bigger crowd – maybe if we start spreading the word NOW it’ll come together. I do have to say the ladies that did the planning did put a lot of effort into it and I hope they now are getting some much deserved rest. Biggest observations from the “event” – I’m still pretty much a big dork and we all look the same as we did 10 years ago except everyone is pregnant. I’m still glad I went, even though I had a brief freak out moment before we left the house – I got over that once I found the vodka.

In other news: brace yourself, this is a shocker… the Hogs LOST, again. Seriously, c’mon. NOW-All we ask for is to beat Ole Miss this coming weekend. It will be the last big tailgate of the season with a 6 o’clock kick!!! I hear we’ll have gumbo and what nots for the day! I’m thinking of making cupcakes – we’ll see how the week goes. I’m also really considering a great recipe I found a while back for Frozen Whiskey Sours… it could happen!!! I have my outfit all picked out – I’m ready for some rockin’ tailgating!

Saturday, Lynn and I went to the inside craft fair in Rogers. Cheryl and Lindsey had a booth there and their stuff was FLYING off the tables. Craft Fairs are a way of life here in Northwest Arkansas, every fall and spring, ladies of all shapes and sizes – all driving LARGE trucks and/or RV’s – converge in the area for shopping all over the place for hand made crafts. The biggest event is War Eagle – google it.

Sunday, Michelle had a group of gals over for some crafting of our own – it was a good relaxing time for everyone I think. I made some fun little trinkets – no glitter pumpkins this week though- there has been a ban put on glitter pumpkins going forward by MZ.

Also, if you didn’t see Sarah Palin on SNL – WOW – it was HILARIOUS!!! I don’t want to have too much about that disaster – and two Palin posts in a 4 day time span, well that’s just not right. But, seriously, as soon you finish reading this – go check it out! You’ll have to do your own digging this time – maybe I’ll post them later in the week, you betcha!!!

This week, I am going to New York for a Media Tour with Robin Miller – our new spokesperson! So, if you are in any of these areas be sure to check out your local morning news shows and look for Robin! Don’t look for me, I won’t be on camera – boo! You all know how I LOVE to be the center of attention, but apparently it ain’t gonna happen this time – maybe next time!!! =)

Pictures to come on this stuff…laterz!

This is what I do… sorta

I’m sure some of my friends and especially MZ wonders what it is exactly that I really DO all day long.
Well, it’s not quite like this but pretty similar. I’d be the blonde (as in the client side of the relationship). Although, admittedly, I may not be this nice ALL of the time.

Palin Point Counter Point

Oh geez… well most of you know my severe “distaste” for Sarah Palin, but I found this on one of the blogs I read and, well I have to hand it to them, lots of fun ideas – if you like that sort of thing.

The drink menu is really creative. Palin-tinis, Alsasa-tinis, Baraccuda-tinis, Lipstick-tinis, Hockeymom-o-politans.

They also made shirts for the mini Palin-ites that say “Pig Tails for Palin.”

Please don’t make one of these, I beg you, for a number of reasons – it’s tacky AND Palin is not running for President…

and in other news…..
Tina Fey ‘leaving Earth’ if Palin wins
Actress has had fun with impersonation on ‘SNL,’ but can’t do four years

Tina Fey is generating big laughs and big audiences for “Saturday Night Live” with her impersonation of Gov. Sarah Palin, but the actress hopes it doesn’t last.
“We’re gonna take it week by week. If she wins, I’m done,” Fey tells TV Guide in the Oct. 20 issue. “I can’t do that for four years. And by ‘I’m done,’ I mean I’m leaving Earth.”
The “30 Rock” star also said the election season and playing Sen. John McCain’s running mate has been a fun and busy time.
“Election time is always good for (‘SNL,’) and this is a bonkers election,” Fey said. “And that lady is a media star. She is a fascinating person. She’s very likable. She’s fun to play, and the two bits with Amy (Poehler) — that was super fun.”

I just heard confirmation that Sarah Palin WILL infact appear on SNL this Saturday night!!! Go set your Tivo right now.

I busted my ass in Target…

No really – I did – it sucked, and it hurt… it still hurts damn it!
I went to Target to try and find a dress I already have but decided it might be best to get it in another color. They didn’t have it, but I found some other things, so it wasn’t a wasted trip entirely.
So, I was walking from the apparel section to the Halloween section – on the other side of the store – my path led me through the front of the store right where the checkouts are. I was just walking normally with my hand basket and my right foot just completely slid out from under me, twisted all the way up my leg and pulled me down with a thud – right in front of probably 30 people.
So not only was I embarrassed and in pain, I was pretty freakin’ pissed off because in the mix of the 30 people, there were probably 5 Target associates just standin around (NOT checking out the people standing in line) and NOT asking if I was ok or any thing – not one single person (shopper nor employee) even acknowledged that I was on the ground. SO MAD!

Anyway, I picked my self up and my basket and continued on through the rest of my shopping without further incident.

Please don’t forget to watch the final Presidential debate tonight on every channel… If you do watch it, let me know – I’ll give you a gold star for the week!

This past weekend…

This was a pretty calm weekend… I did get some great crafties done at AB’s house along with JC – glitter pumpkins are ALWAYS a hit – they are very fun and festive and don’t involve sharp object – yet another bonus!
Saturday evening we went out for a bit to wish Jen a Happy Birthday.

The big news of the weekend was that the HOGS actually WON! Clearly, the strategy of ignoring them worked out pretty well! Never fear, two more tailgates left and I’m sure some great pictures too! But the Bears AND the Cowboys both lost in nail biter endings – it was a stressful Sunday!

Here’s a little collage of what I did this weekend and some pictures I took, including my new pedicure color. MZ was OK with everything glitter except for the hat on the pig – so I’ll probably take that off. The Gargoyle and The Pig are staples on the front porch! He’s just lucky I didn’t dress The Gargoyle up like a ghost.
We are still trying to find some FABULOUS Halloween costumes for the 2 parties we are attending – feel free to suggest something!!!

The Fleecing of America… @ Sonic

Seriously! $1.19 for a Banana and another $1.19 for uno String Cheese!

I LOVE Sonic, but this is just plain wrong.
Especially since I can get a chocolate banana milk shake for $1.59 and that comes with a WHOLE banana, ice cream made with 2% milk (dairy) and real chocolate (sanity saver and antioxidants)!

Who looks silly now?

thoughts on brown hair???

If for any reason you forgot what I looked like with blonde hair – just read any other square inch of my blog…
Don’t ask, because I don’t know what my natural color is… =)

If you actually watched the debate…

I’m proud of you.
I’m proud of you.
I hope that you’re as proud as I am proud of you.
I’m proud of you.
I hope that you are proud
And that you’re
Learning how important you are,
How important each person you see can be.
Discovering each one’s specialty
Is the most important learning.
I’m proud of you.
I’m proud of you.
I hope that you’re as proud as I am proud of you.
I’m proud of you.I hope that you are proud of you, too!

– Mr. Rogers
(sorry, I could not find the music video on youtube)

I know we don’t all share the same political views, but all I can hope for is that you gained some educational insight on the way our country “works” and how you are affected by and directly responsible for what you chose on November 4th … atleast for the next 4 years.

So VOTE proudly, if you don’t VOTE, don’t complain!

Also, please know that the current Afghan Commander is General McKiernan NOT General McClellan… (he was fired by President Lincoln). Go back and watch Palin’s “stance on Afghan policy” if you do not know what I’m talking about there…
Moral of that story – Don’t believe everything you hear on TV kiddos!
